The D. Scott Hudgens Center for Skilled Nursing occupies one wing of the Laura Grier Center for Special Care. The D. Scott Hudgens Center for Skilled Nursing provides all of the services of a traditional nursing home while specializing in the special needs of individuals with a primary diagnosis of mental retardation or other developmental disability. The facility features 16 private rooms staffed by professional nurses that have additional training to meet the needs of our unique residents.

Residents can enjoy the privacy of their own room or visit with friends and family on the screened in porch or in the gardens of the courtyard. Large oversized chairs, a big screen TV and a fireplace in the lounge all add to the ambiance while welcoming residents and visitors alike. A clinical dietitian oversees the preparation of meals that are enjoyed in the brightly lit dining room. Recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities are presented with each resident's wishes and needs in mind.
